The Apple Watch officially started shipping on Friday, but for many buyers, the wait is just beginning.
Within hours of becoming available for preorder, the Apple Watch sold out and was backordered by at least a month. I ordered my Apple Watch (38mm stainless steel with soft pink modern buckle) roughly six hours after preorders started, only to get stuck with an ambiguous "June" shipping date.
The good news: Some users are getting orders more quickly than anticipated. A number of Apple Watch buyers who Mashable spoke with have reported faster shipping dates, even for orders initially pegged for June. Some of those users have received their watches already. Read more...
